Can anyone tell me what the thread on an NF fuel tap is ?  Despite thinking I had taken steps to prevent it I have lined my tank and got traces of the lining gloop into the thread in the tank (other one is ok , need to clean it out with a tap but am unsure what thread .

OK the carb comes with 45 , 48 and 52 idle jets  and 116 , 120 and 125 main jets .  I started with the largest and worked my way down. 52 /125 seemed to big ,  48 / 120 ran ok I moved down to the smallest and I thought it was marginally better and have left it like that. However I did open up the baffle in the gold star silencer after that and it might be worth trying 48/120 again. As I said before I am running with a gauze bellmouth. - MD

Hi ,I bought this in 2013 and at that time it cost me £115 + vat and p&p.  It is a Dellorto PHBH 30 AS          4-stroke    I told them the model of bike it was for and asked for a price, it came with a choice of jets all of which I tried. It comes as standard with a plastic float chamber, after I was sure it was the way I wanted to go I ordered an alloy replacement. I tried various air filters (but not the standard box with mini filter on reflection that might have been ok) in the end settled for a bellmouth with full mesh. Hope this is helpful. - Moby Dick.

I contacted eurocarb and asked for the currently available equivalent Delorto which would fit straight on to the existing manifold,it works really well. I can get you the model number if you want.  -Moby Dick.

Hi David, I am with Footman James and get a discount for being a VMCC  member. I have Moto Guzzi California, NF, BMW K75, Ariel NH 350 ,  Ariel Arrow 250 and pay £180. I hear people knocking Footman James but I am very happy with them and have been for years.    Moby Dick.

Yes thats much better but I feel a compulsion to buy a cafe racer!  With Barnett restoration skills like that you could get a job with Villiers services!   MD.

If I can just add a note of warning with PIRNER in Germany, I bought my larger bore piston from him that was fine , went back to him when I could not find off the shelf valve guides and he "implied" that he had them in stock, after I had paid for them he said they would be ready "shortly" which turned out to be 10 weeks. In all other respects he was fine just be sure to ask if he has the item in stock. - Moby Dick.

« on: March 05, 2015, 11:47:32 am »
OK I have looked at all the recent posts and this has not been mentioned, was on my day off yesterday and spotted a magazine I had not seen before in WH Smiths called FTW (forever two wheels). Only intended to look at it because it is a bit pricy at £6.99 ! definitely above my pay grade !  BUT once inside found an 8 page article on the Rondine with some stunning pics taken on the Healy Pass in Ireland. So you are right I bought it ,if you get a chance drop by WH Smiths just say I sent you .......................
