There's a civille on eBay.

Your budget should be OK,I bought my ex Italian traffic police bike, with only 8000 kilometres on the clock, for less than that.
Mine purchased here in France, not known for cheap s/h bikes.

I agree with the others, easy to kick start.I have a knackered left ankle and find that starting is easy, usually first kick.I have the bike on the side stand, ease over compression and 'kick' ( more like a push ) with my right foot.Simples.

I had thought this was how it works, but this cannot explain how the last bike made was NF 99 GH.

According to Mario Colombo's book,The Complete History, the police and military NF's had frame numbers from NF 00 AA to frame NF 99 GH.
I don't know how this system works but my bike must be an early one, with frame number NF 04 AT
My frame is also stamped DGM 63570M
Does anyone know how the system works?

Thanks.its lovely living here in the French countryside, but frustrating when you need stuff, so I had to use the only silver paint I had to paint the alt. cover which was chrome effect spray made for home decoration.
I will get something less Lary when I next go into our big town.

I have the 225mm diameter flywheel.
Today I rode over to the Indian Saloon, a restaurant and motorcycle museum about 50 miles from me that has motojumble every 2nd Sunday of the month.About 100 bikes meet up for a coffee and chat, all sorts of bikes, classics, customs and moderns.
I was pounced on before I could get my lid off with questions about the NF (I think most wondered where the other cylinder was!).a few people knew about the 'jambon couteau' and were disappointed when they saw my flywheel was covered.I have been thinking for a while getting one of those German covers (I have seen that two are available, which is the nicest one?) but for the moment I have cobbled up a piece of ally sheet to see how it looks.
Have a look at the Indian Saloon website, unusual to see a wild west saloon in France which has a Harley panhead and an Indian chief above the bar!
