I note that it's only done 26,000kms as of 2017, I sold it in about 2005 and had done about 20,000kms, so it's had a leisurely existence since then.

Yes Jake,
I went out for about 90 minutes last Saturday evening, very warm (mid 20’c) enjoyed it so much, and thought if I want another bike, it will have to wait till I can afford it, then I’ll be going back to three (BMW R9T being the other current bike) There is something about this old clunker which explains why I’ve had it so long. Is my old Militaire (MWV281J) still active?

After 10 years of ownership my NF is looking for a new home, the engine is rebuilt (bills to prove) and she runs as sweet as a nut.
This year she has had new battery/chain/NOS seat springs (hard to find) and NJB rear shocks
She burns no oil and regularly returns low 80's to the gallon
Maintained by Pietro at Motori di Marino in West Sussex
Bike is in West Surrey 3 miles from J3 of the M3.

Great story Jake, if you are a member of the Guzzi Owners Club you should submit the story for publication I Gambalunga.
