Mine has a sludge trap on the crank. You'll see it when you get it apart.
Make sure that something other than the dowel pin is keeping it from parting.

Engine and Transmission / valve springs
« on: January 15, 2019, 10:22:59 pm »
I think I have read all the information I can find on installing lighter valves and springs.
What amount of spring pressure reduction from the stock spring should I use?
What is the material of choice to make the guides out of?
Any new information on 8 m.m. donor valves to use?

Hi Tonya,
Thanks for the quick reply. Good to hear it's a success.
I've delayed ordering one because I couldn't decide if the higher
RPM's would cause a problem.

Tonya, Do you have any road test information to report on the Kubota alternator installation?

Thanks for all the replies. Patentgeek, can I ask what the shipping cost was on the tank?
I had a BMW/Heinrich tank shipped over 10 years ago and it was around 300$
To insure it,it had to be shipped by air.

I've been told that Schnez is no longer making the casting available.

If I had a civilian tank, I would probably do that.

I know the chances are slim to none, but I'm going to ask anyway.
Does anyone in the U.S. have a civilian tank they would sell??

I can assure you I wasn't going to have the cylinder bored .o15 inches.
Does .00155" -.00173'' sound  better?
I don't understand how to convert .395 mm to  inches and get .00155.
Shouldn't the measurement in the repair book be .0395- .0440 ?
What am I missing?

The 0.395 mm converts to just over 1.5 thousands [ .01555] of an INCH, correct?
Cloggy, I thought your measurement was in inches, my mistake.
Thanks for both of your help.

Wow, I was thinking 1.5 thousands.  If I did the conversion math correctly from the German manual, I came up with around 1.5
