It's getting to be a real pain to find free online photo-hosting, so here are some pix from Randall:
Firstly, one of the NF's predecessors, the Alce, in the desert on 17th March 1941. Libya possibly?

Interesting pics thanks gents.
The blokes standing up:  any idea what kind of military they are?  Their helmets look something  like a tank helmet, but I'm just guessing

They are part of the 6th Bersaglieri Regiment, an elite unit of the Italian Army, equipped with armored vehicles for troop transport (from here the tank helmet) while the first row below are motorcyclists
