Kick-Start Spring
« on: August 08, 2017, 01:00:46 am »
I'm reviving a 1970 Nuovo Falcone that hasn't been on the road since 1987.

The kickstarter isn't springing back into place.  The hooked end of the spring is attached to the kickstarter, which looks correct.  What keeps the straight end of the spring in place such that the spring winds up when actuating the kickstarter?

Hello,
The spring is held at the upper side of the aluminium distance bush fixed by the lower engine holding bolt.
You have to pretension the spring to bring it to the right position before mounting the bolt!

Good luck

Thanks!  Very helpful.

Luckily, my kickstart spring isn't broken.  I suspect the spring wasn't installed properly when a replacement engine was fitted.  So it should be a pretty simple matter of preloading the spring on the engine stud spacer.
